Walk for Economic Empowerment
On Saturday, October 1, 2011, several individuals from Parkwood participated in the Walk for Economic Empowerment. The walk was co-sponsored by Covenant World Relief, the humanitarian aid ministry of our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Thanks to the generosity of many donors, Parkwooders raised $686 toward the fundraising total of $2,500 to benefit Fuentes Libres, a ministry that provides microfinance loans to marginalized families in Oaxaca, Mexico, as well as the Hindustani Covenant Church, part of the Evangelical Covenant Church in India.
If you haven’t done so already, please watch this short video that explains why a few dollars can make a huge difference in the lives of those who are materially poor.

Finally, it’s not too late to help raise money for the walk. You can still make a contribution online by clicking here.
