Position Title: Youth Ministry Director
Position Summary: Lead and implement Christ-centered ministry for our growing middle and
high school students.

Reports To: Pastoral Team Leader

Hours Per Week: Up to 10 hrs

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities
Our desire is to offer a part-time position to a dynamic, enthusiastic individual with a clear calling and heart for working with youth. The Youth Director/Pastor will be expected to develop and lead programming and ministry that fosters spiritual discipleship and missional living for the youth. An internship option will also be considered.

Job Description

1. Ministry Team Leader

Evaluate the specific needs of youth within the congregation and the local community to determine how to serve them and how they might best serve each other.
Leader to set the vision for the youth ministry in a way that is consistent with biblical teaching and Church’s strategic initiatives.
Coordinate youth age (middle and high school) Sunday school
Oversee youth group, scheduling events periodically in a given month
Establish policies and procedures that ensure the physical and emotional safety and security of the youth at Church.
Attend staff meetings and leadership meetings that impact the youth ministry and overall strategy of the church.
Exhibit and infuse fun, enthusiastic energy, drawing youth into church life and community with one another.

2. Team and collaboration
Pastoral Team Leader & Council

Communicate and collaborate to align youth curriculum with themes and strategic initiatives of the broader church.
Have a teachable spirit that promotes teamwork and servant hood.

Lead youth in discipleship and spiritual formation that aligns with the vision of the church.
Lead gatherings on a weekly or bi-weekly basis that promote spiritual formation
Parents of the Youth
Collaborate with the parents of the youth to discuss and implement ideas that enable them towards Christ-centered discipleship and strategic initiatives of the church.
Collaborate on curriculum development and event planning.

Teachers and volunteers
Provide spiritual and organizational leadership for the Youth Ministry teachers and volunteers.
Identify, recruit, and train support leaders (parents, teachers, and mentors).

3. Worship leader
Ability and willingness to lead the musical portion of Sunday worship as part of a rotation as many services are joint family worship setting with both adults and children.
Work with Pastoral Team Lead in coordinating music and sermon themes.

Background and Experience
Has a passion for Christian Education and Spiritual Formation of youth.
Demonstrates a mature Christian faith.
Obtained Bachelor’s Degree.
Completed some level of Biblical training in Youth Ministry.
Excellent in planning, organizing, and has strong follow-through abilities.
Must become a member of Church.
Able to make a 12-month commitment to the job.
Experience preparing and leading worship/music.
Exhibit excellent communication skills with families of youth .
M.A in Youth Ministry or M.Div from accredited seminary.
Has an understanding of ECC theology and willing to minister within the ECC practice.
